Bachelor Ben – Week 7

A bit late on my Bachelor post this week, so I’ll get right to it.

First off, I enjoyed the ‘Bachelor at 20’ special that aired on Valentine’s Day. Thanks to DVR I was able to catch up on Monday. It was fun looking back on all 20 seasons, checking in on the couples that are still together and of course we got to see the wedding of Jade and Tanner from Bachelor in Paradise!  It’s cheesy I know – who would have their wedding on TV with 500 people in attendance who you probably don’t care about??  Well the answer is – a lot of people would.  And if ABC is footing the bill, then why they hell not?!  Anyway, I’m happy for “Janner” (that’s the disgusting name that Jade and Tanner call themselves) and I hope everything works out for them. Tanner would be pretty dumb to let Jade slip away!!!  She is stunning!

Now – back to Ben’s journey!  This week Ben took the remaining six ladies to the small picturesque town where he grew up in Indiana.  This episode was definitely a turning point and even though most of us could probably already tell who the front runners were, well in this episode, it became more than obvious!!

I adore both Lauren B and JoJo and I loved both of their one on one dates with Ben!

Lauren B got to live a true “day in the life” of Ben when he is back home and their connection is becoming stronger than ever.  I love their chemistry and their feelings seem truly genuine.  I can definitely see a future for them! Lauren B even said she was in love with Ben!!

Side Note: Now that Lauren H is gone, I am going to stop calling Lauren B, Lauren B.  I will now just call her Lauren.

JoJo is a close second to Lauren and could possibly even win Ben’s heart over her in the end.  Ben took JoJo to Chicago where they spent the day at Wrigley Field!  They played and laughed and kissed.  They are very natural with each other and Ben even said he is completely himself with JoJo, more than any of the other girls.  That says something.  And you can’t ignore it. Beauty can fade, but in the end, we all just want someone who we can stand to be around for the next 60 years – someone who is your best friend. JoJo and Ben have potential, that’s for sure!

The three on one date was awkward!  And as much of a Becca fan and supporter I am, it was plain to see that her time was coming to a close.  I’m pretty sure Caila will be around for another week. But I was surprised that Ben gave Amanda the rose.  I love Amanda, but I still think to myself, wow – what 26 year old man wants to take on two toddler girls in addition to their young mother?!  I know that sounds mean and Amanda deserves love just like any of us do – but I’m just not sure it’ll be her in the end.  And from what we see in the trailers, Ben does end up meeting her daughters, which is a very serious thing.  Should he have met them if Amanda ends up not being the one??  I’m not a parent, so it’s hard to say, but I guess we’ll see!

Per my predictions last week, Emily and her immature, slightly sweet, yet gullible and airheaded self went home!!  I mean – duh.  Thank goodness. That’s all I have to say about that.

Sadly – Becca also went home.  Her second stint on The Bachelor came to an end.  I was definitely sad to see her go, but I think Ben made the right choice.  He is left with the four ladies that quite frankly he has had the strongest feelings for along the way.  After seven weeks of dating these girls and going into the hometown dates next week, it’s time to get serious.  I am however, rooting for Becca to be in the running to be The Bachelorette!  I think it’d be a great story – two failed attempts at love on The Bachelor, plus she’s a fan favorite.  Let’s make her The Bachelorette – third times a charm, right?!  God, I’m such a sucker for this show…

The next few weeks are gonna be good!  We’re nearing the end and my gut says it’ll be between Lauren and JoJo!  What do you guys think?

More to discuss next week…until then!

Best Dressed: BAFTAs and Grammys

Two major award shows took place over this Valentine’s Day/President’s Day three day weekend.  Here’s what I have to say about the amazing fashion the BAFTAs and the Grammys!

2016 BAFTA Awards

The BAFTAs are basically the Oscars for England.  I was pleased with the winners and even more pleased with the red carpet!  Here are my picks for Best Dressed at the BAFTAs which were held on Valentine’s Day.

Brooklyn’s Saoirse Ronan wearing Burberry.  I thought she looked young and fresh.  I loved the shoes and the ponytail.  She looks 21 and it’s perfect.

How to be Single’s Dakota Johnson wearing Dior.  She brought it with simple, elegant and sexy.  Plus the red was perfect for Valentine’s Day.  It was natural and effortless. Bravo!

Steve Jobs’ Kate Winslet wearing Antonio Berardi.  I thought she looked gorgeous.  It was old Hollywood glamour with a modern twist.  I loved her hair down and the red Jimmy Choo clutch. This is what a movie star looks like!

Carol’s Cate Blanchett wearing Alexander McQueen. She is a fashion risk taker and you gotta love that, but sometimes it can be hit or miss. This one is a huge hit!!! She is stunning from head to toe!  Work it, Cate.

Peaky Blinders starlet Annabelle Wallis wearing Oscar de la Renta. Another lady in red for Valentine’s Day.  She is breathtaking in this number…romantic and sexy. I love her upswept hair and the slight sheerness of the red lace.  The black undies barely showing through is the showstopper!

2016 Grammy Awards

Music’s biggest night can sometimes bring some interesting fashion choices to the red carpet.  But when these artists bring it…they BRING it!  Here are my favorite looks from last night’s Grammy Awards!

Selena Gomez wearing Calvin Klein.

Carrie Underwood wearing Nicolas Jebran.

Lady Gaga brilliantly pays homage to David Bowie in Marc Jacobs.

…and Taylor Swift (BOW DOWN) wearing Atelier Versace.  The hair, the makeup, the performance, the speech – this girl owns the music world!

Can’t wait to finish off awards season in a couple weeks with the Oscars!!

Until next time.

Bachelor Ben – Week 6

Well – it happened!  And if you don’t know by now, then you’re about to find out…

Olivia is gone.

Before you think I’m going to spend my time trash talking her, I’m not.  I actually sort of felt bad for her.  The producers like to make it sooo dramatic when the departure of a contestant is on a two on one date, and to me…it’s just mean.  She looked so sad just standing there and then she has to pathetically watch as Ben sails off with Emily.  It’s just a bit much in my opinion. I will say this though, I think it was time. Ben could officially no longer keep her around with any justification.  He had had it – the girls had had it.  It was obvious she was not the one and he respectfully told her so and that was that. Good job, Ben.

Now – just because I was happy to see Olivia go, doesn’t mean that I am in any way rooting for Emily.  I am not.  I personally think Ben should have let her go too.  She is not the one for him, and he knows that. She is a toddler – well – a small child at best.  She is not ready for this commitment. The way she calls her twin up to gossip and talk shit about the other girls, is just gross.  She is beyond immature.  I mean, under her job description it literally says “Twin”…plus she still lives with Mommy and sleeps in a teenager’s room with posters on the wall.  OK now I’m being rude, I realize that, but it’s for these reasons and more, why I think Emily will be leaving next week.

I’m gonna jump around in this post because a lot happened in this episode.

Leah’s reaction (I just found out her name this week by the way) to Caila getting the one on one date was unwarranted in my opinion. Ben is here to find love. To find a wife. It’s getting to the point in the season where Ben really can’t waste his one on one dates. He has such limited time as it is to really get to know the girls he actually likes, so I totally support Ben’s decision to give Caila a second one on one date before giving one to Leah, who he hasn’t really connected with all that much.  And although their date involved some tough conversation, I am glad he chose to keep Caila around.  I appreciated her honesty.

Leah on the other hand, turned out to be a huge liar and back-stabber on the group date…and it was all because of jealousy!  It’s become pretty clear to the girls and the audience that Lauren B and Ben have a very strong relationship.  He is clearly into her and Leah couldn’t take it.  She decided the best way to split them up would be to tell Ben that Lauren B is all wrong for him.  She’s a bad person.  She’s not who she says she is, etc. etc. It was disgusting to watch, especially since Lauren B literally seems like the sweetest person and her connection with Ben seems so genuine.  I knew right then, this girl had to GO!

And she did.

Thankfully, Ben saw through Leah’s bullshit and chose to say goodbye.  Not to mention, they have spent absolutely no time together and he has such strong feelings for the remaining girls, there was really no reason for her to stay. And although I’m sure deep down Leah is a decent person – well – she has successfully ended her stint on The Bachelor as a villian. And you never wanna do that – especially with The Women Tell All and After the Final Rose being just a month or so away.  Best of luck to you, Leah.

In the end, Ben also sent Lauren H home, which you could spot a mile away.

Next week will be Emily and after that – it’s really hard to say.  I genuinely really like Lauren B, Becca, JoJo, Caila and Amanda.  I guess we’ll see how it unfolds when Ben takes the girls to his hometown!

By the way, that teaser trailer for the rest of the season was intense.  I kinda think Ben might flip flop between his final two – or maybe he ends up with no one!!

Here’s the sneak peek in case you missed it!

Bachelor Ben – Week 5

Gonna keep it short, sweet and simple this week.  Things got intense in Mexico and I gotta say it’s about time!  I’m happy Ben finally realized that Jubilee is not for him, he needed to.  She clearly was not handling the pressure of the situation well.  Her sourpuss attitude and snarky comments were getting out of hand and she was just starting to act straight up immature and kind of rude towards Ben, which is not OK.  Buh-bye, Jubilee. You’re a a nice person and all, but The Bachelor is not for you.

I missed Becca this week, she was sort of out of the spotlight and I’m hoping she shines again soon.  But in the meantime, I am starting to LOVE the relationships Ben has with Lauren B and JoJo.  I think both relationships have something really special!  It’s clear those two are front runners!

I’m not sure if Lauren H or Amanda are the right ladies for Ben just yet, but I did enjoy both of their dates very much and I’m glad he kept them around.

Olivia, Olivia, Olivia…she got the group date rose this week which pissed off the all the ladies, but then at the rose ceremony Ben pulls her away after hearing some not so nice things about her and asks if they can talk in private.  Hmmm…could this be it for her?! We won’t find out until next week cause The Bachelor left us on a cliffhanger.  My thoughts are she stays one more week.  I don’t think Ben’s gonna take away her rose, but I do think he needs to put her in her place.  Either way, it’s becoming more and more clear that Olivia is not the one for him, and I’m glad.

Can’t wait to see what happens next week.  Hopefully after sending Olivia packing, Ben decides to get rid of that one brunette and that one blonde who no one even knows or cares about.  Who are they…really?  I swear I’ve never even seen Ben talk to them.

Until next time!

#macandcheesemonday – first edition

It’s important that you know this about me – I LOVE MAC AND CHEESE!  I love it.  I really do.  It’s true, pure LOVE!!  I named my blog ‘Adriana Lopez…with a side of Mac and Cheese’ because of this deep and meaningful love. I mean – it’s cheese, which let’s face it, is the greatest food in the world!  And then there’s pasta, which is probably the second greatest food in the world.  You add them together and it’s truly magical!!

Mac and Cheese has become a staple at most restaurants over the last few years.  If you don’t have some form of a Mac and Cheese on your menu, then really, what’s the point. When I go out to dinner (or lunch – or really any time of day) if there’s a yummy sounding Mac and Cheese on the menu, then I’m ordering it!

Since I eat it so often (probably more often than I should) I decided we should do something fun with the Blog!  We’re starting #macandcheesemonday and today is the first post!  Two Mondays a month I will post a restaurant Mac and Cheese that I have had the pleasure of enjoying in my belly.  I will give you all the deets on it – where you can find it, what’s in it and then…I’ll rate it on a star scale, five stars being the best!  Consider this a public service! My gift – to you.

In Toluca Lake, there is an adorable little place with amazing drinks and small plates called Catcher in the Rye. All the drinks are book title-themed and the food is pretty tasty! Here is my review of their Roasted Jalapeno Mac and Cheese.

photo

Presentation: 3 stars

Quality/Taste: 3.5 stars

Overall Experience: 3 stars

This Mac has bow-tie pasta noodles, bits of jalapeno for a kick and kernels of corn with grated parmesan on top.  It’s very creamy and saucy, but not super cheesy. Because I love cheese so much I usually prefer if a Mac has visible cheese.  I want to taste the cheese…and SEE it!  That being said, here’s the thing about Mac and Cheese, even if it’s not the best you’ve ever had, it’s still delicious.  And this was tasty!  Also, kudos to the chef for the addition of corn!  That was a very nice touch!

Here’s some info if you’d like to stop by Catcher in the Rye and see for yourself!

2016 SAG Awards

A lot goes into the process of making a film or television show truly great.  The writing, the directing, the set design, the cinematography, the editing – and so much more.  But what the audience sees and what clinches it in the end, are the performances.  If you don’t have the right actors to tell your story and make it all come together, then it simply doesn’t matter.

It’s no secret that I love actors.  I love being entertained.  I love being taken on a journey with a character.  I love being moved to laughter and tears.  Acting is a craft.  It’s an art form.  It’s also especially tough in a city where half a million people are trying to do the exact same thing.  But every actor has a story.  A story of how it all started for them.  How they made that decision to come out and say – I want to be an actor.  The SAG awards celebrates those stories and journeys.  They celebrate the performances that we remember most each year.  And the coolest and probably most rewarding thing for these actors, is that the votes come from their peers.  It’s Actors voting for Actors.  Probably the highest honor and biggest compliment some of these artists will ever receive.

It’s pretty much a guarantee that when I watch an award show – a few tears may be shed. Usually tears of happiness, but tears nonetheless.  And this definitely rang true for me last night!  I loved seeing Leo win his first SAG award after NINE nominations!!  I mean seriously, how has he never won!?  His speech was my favorite of the night! I am so happy for his achievements this year with The Revenant, although in my opinion, he has been under-appreciated for years.  And how can you not love that huge embrace after his win with his BFF Kate Winslet – Jack and Rose Forever!!!

Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, 2016 SAG Awards, GIFs
Of course I was beyond thrilled for my girl Brie Larson who won Best Actress in my favorite film of the year, ROOM.  She looked beautiful and I loved her speech and her shout out to her co-star little Jacob Tremblay, who I think should have won for Supporting Actor, but that’s ok!  Brie has won everything this year so far and has brought attention to this tiny little film which is so well-deserving!! The Oscar is hers to lose at this point and I am soo happy for her and everyone involved with ROOM.
I gotta say – I’m sort of indifferent about Spotlight winning Best Cast in a Motion Picture. It was a good movie, yes, but it wasn’t spectacular.  The best performance in the film was Mark Ruffalo’s – the others just sort of played themselves, so it wasn’t much of a stretch. There were Casts that were far superior to Spotlight so I was a little disappointed in that.
In TV, I was so happy to see Downton Abbey and Orange is the New Black win!  I am a fan of both shows and they both truly embody what an ensemble cast is all about.  Loved seeing Kevin Spacey win for Frank Underwood in House of Cards, which I’m also a huge fan of and Uzo Aduba is always a standout in OITNB and I’m so glad she took the award home for a second time!
I also loved the film and TV montages and the lifetime achievement tribute to the wonderful Carol Burnett.  All in all a great show, always entertaining and of course – I scored the most on my at-home ballot with nine correct guesses!!
Looking forward to the Oscars next month!!  In the meantime, check out my Instagram to see my picks for Best Dressed last night at the SAG Awards!

Best SAG Awards Dresses of All Time

The Screen Actor’s Guild Awards have always been one of my favorite award shows.  I love it because it’s all about the actors.  It’s actors voting for actors and there is always such a lovely sense of camaraderie and mutual respect in the room.  It’s all about the work, the craft, the art form, the skill of the performance.

But then – there’s also the fashion!  For the Globes and Oscars everyone goes all out with sparkle and ball gowns – you name it.  The SAG’s can be a bit more understated – dare I say casual even.  Julia Roberts once wore a hot pink pantsuit and it was all the rage!  What I mean is that there’s less pressure.  The stylists have more fun at this show, they take risks that they wouldn’t take on the larger red carpets, whether simple or sexy – the ladies always look great at the SAG’s.

So in honor of tonight’s Screen Actor’s Guild Awards, I am counting down my favorite SAG dresses of all time!

10.  Charlize Theron in Gucci, 2004

9. Camilla Alves in Donna Karan, 2015

8.  Amy Adams in Antonio Berardi, 2014

7. Kate Hudson in Emilio Pucci, 2013

6.  Nina Dobrev in Elie Saab, 2013

5.  Mila Kunis in Alexander McQueen, 2011

4.  Lea Michele in Catherine Malandrino, 2010

3.  Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen, 2010

2.  Diane Kruger in Jason Wu, 2011

  1. Lupita Nyong’o in Gucci, 2014

Looking forward to seeing what the ladies wear tonight!  Be sure to check back tomorrow for a full SAG Awards recap!

Bachelor Ben – Week 4

Ok – Olivia is officially voted off the island.  She has one – maybe two weeks left before Ben sees how nuts she is and how the drama just follows her.  She’s so needy it’s unnatural.  I kinda feel bad for her actually.  But – she is only 23.  As I mentioned in last week’s post, these girls in their twenties are something else.  They honestly have no idea who they are and they are soo insecure it’s hard to watch at times.  Not to say there aren’t a handful of good girls for Ben, because I think there are, but honestly, I’m not even sure if half of these girls are mentally or emotionally ready to give their life to someone else. That’s what this show is supposed to be right?  It’s about finding love and being open to finding love, yes.  But Ben wants a WIFE.  He wants to get married.  Some of these girls still live at home and don’t have jobs.  Yikes.

This week they were in Vegas and JoJo got the first date.  I like JoJo.  And Ben seems so into her.  At first I thought it might just be physical, but after their date I think she may go pretty far.  They had a good conversation about previous relationships and what they’re both looking for and it seemed to go well.  Definitely digging the two of them for now, but – it’s still very early to tell.

The group date was – interesting.  All of the girls had to get up and perform a talent in front of not only Ben, but 1200 people in a LIVE Las Vegas audience.  Now, I love to sing and dance for fun…in the shower, in my car, when I’m drunk with friends…but no way would I have been stoked for this date!!  So I gotta hand it to these girls, cause they actually did really well.  Most of them anyway – except dare I say – Olivia.  This girl is just…I don’t know.  Needless to say it was painful to watch.  And she knew it, everyone knew it, it was bad. So much so that she spent the remainder of the episode crying and apologizing to Ben for it.  She says she was trying to be different, do something out of her comfort zone, she wanted to be sexy and stand out to Ben and it was just a FAIL. Like I said earlier though, you almost felt bad for the girl.  She just doesn’t have a clue. Everything she is saying, every word that comes out of her mouth makes her look and sound – crazy!  Granted, I’m sure so much of this is edited to make her look that way, but even still, she did say those words, she made those faces, she has said these crazy, ridiculous things and she must feel so ashamed now looking back as she’s watching it all play out.  Poor thing.

Amidst the drama, it’s plain to see that Ben is super into Lauren B!!  I like her a lot too.  I loved their date last week and this week, even though she was on the group date, Ben made sure she knew that he was thinking of her.  He singled her out and made it clear that she pretty much has nothing to worry about.  Front runner??  Quite possibly.

Now onto another gal who I’m hoping is also reaching the front of the pack.  Becca had a one on one date with Ben and it went great!  As an ordained minister, Ben “married” a bunch of couples in a real Las Vegas chapel and Becca stood by his side.  It was cute and a great date for someone as sweet as Becca.

Becca, if you don’t know, was on Chris’ season last year.  She was the runner-up.  I was sad to see her go back then, but in hindsight, she is obviously so much better off now. Not only because of Ben, but you truly can see her personal growth over the last year and a half.  She was very closed off and really shy last time around, but you can see she’s come into her own. Becca grew up in a very traditional home, she has strong morals and values and has made it no secret that she is a virgin and will continue to wait until she finds the right person.  Becca is the real deal.  She’s pure and lovely and kind and it just oozes out of her.  Ben loves it. They discussed so many topics, including her last stint on The Bachelor, and she opened up so much.  She just let it all out.  It was great seeing her come so far after her break-up with Chris.  I really think she and Ben have a good connection, I can’t tell yet if she is the ONE, but they seemed to hit it off and I think she’ll stick around for awhile!  I’m on Team Becca for sure!

Ben is doing pretty well on his journey so far. He’s sending the right girls home in my opinion, he finally separated the twins, he’s holding it together and on the right track.  I do sense that next week is gonna be a game changer.  I think even more girl drama is on the horizon and we may be seeing the last of Olivia in these next couple weeks – or is that just wishful thinking on my part??  I guess we’ll see.  More next week…

For now I’ll leave you with Olivia’s cringe-worthy showgirl performance brought to you by US Weekly.

Bachelor Ben – Week 3

I’m caught up on The Bachelor after the Holiday weekend and wow. It’s the third week of dates on Season 20 of The Bachelor and poor Ben is dealing with some DRAMA.  I was actually  uncomfortable watching most of Monday’s episode.  There was more gossip, jealousy, pettiness and immaturity on this one episode than I’ve seen in awhile.  If I’m being honest, I think it has to do with the ages of these women.  Ben is one of the youngest bachelors at 26 – so the girls the producers chose are ranging between 22 and 27.  Let’s face it, the twenties are the worst age for shit-talkers and these ladies are proof. They spent the whole episode hating on Olivia, her toes, her cankles, her bad breath and her fake boobs. Now mind you, I don’t love Olivia (she’s the one who makes the weird faces for those who don’t watch) – but she’s still a person and doesn’t deserve to be gossiped about. She did piss me off later on in the episode though – I’ll get to that later.

Lauren B. had a one on one date with Ben.  I like her.  She seems sweet and real and natural. I really enjoyed their date and frankly would LOOOOVE to go on a plane like that! It seemed fun and exciting and scary and exhilarating, which is what falling in love feels like.  It was a great way to start their day together.  The second part however, was CHEEEEESY!!  I mean, I love this show, but The Bachelor actually put a hot tub in the middle of a field in Ventura County.  Just PLOP, right there in the middle of nowhere, nothing around, just a hot tub.  You could tell Lauren was like…ummm ok, I guess I’ll put on my bathing suit right now. After the weirdness of the hot tub subsided, their chemistry seemed great and their conversation at dinner seemed to flow nicely.  I enjoyed this date and I’d like to see where the two of them go!

The group date was a soccer competition between two teams, winners get to spend the evening out with Ben and the others go home.  The gossip and drama continued on this date, but Ben seemed oblivious.  He has some decent conversations, blah blah blah – your typical group date.

Now – Jubilee.  Jubilee is – well she’s ok.  I like her at times and strongly dislike her at other times.  She was being an awkward cry baby before her one on one date, borderline rude when Ben picked her up for the date, totally normal and at ease and likable during the date and then weird again at the rose ceremony.  She isolated herself from the girls, saying she’s not the type who gets along with women and ended up causing a whole scene forcing Ben to get involved. I am tired of women acting like it’s such a chore to get along with other women. Like it’s so complicated – um hello!  You are a woman too!  There is something so wonderful about women coming together and enjoying the company of each other.  It’s one thing to say, I tend to hang with the boys more, but to say that you just don’t get along with girls at all, I’m not cool with that.  And I have a hunch that Ben won’t be cool with it either.  Guys want a girl who can get be friendly with everyone, get with the program Jubes.

Before the rose ceremony at the end of the episode, Ben tells the ladies that he got a call from home that day letting him know that two close family friends had passed away in a plane crash.  He was pretty sad and it showed, but he said something to the women that I liked.  He said he’s looking for someone who in moments like this can just be there for him, listen to him, comfort him, just talk it out – because these are real moments in life. The struggles, the losses, that’s part of a relationship.  But – – this is where I got annoyed. Instead of giving him that comfort that he basically just asked for, Olivia pulls him aside to talk about her own insecurities.  She actually talked about her legs and her cankles.  She started to cry and Ben was just staring at her like – are you kidding me right now?  It was so weird.  Then Jubilee (we’ll call her Jubes) decides to offer Ben a nice gesture and give him a massage to relax him, little does she know the whole house is against her for it and stirring up all kinds of drama. But instead of confronting the situation and talking to the ladies, she runs away and hides upstairs and forces Ben to run after her while she’s crying. This is too much…poor Ben.  Then to cap it all off, right before the rose ceremony, Lace (remember crazy Lace) pulls him aside and says she is leaving.  She’s upset, crying and says this process isn’t for her, she has a lot more growing up to do.  Now this I’m not mad at – I actually think it’s the most mature and sane thing that Lace has ever said on the show and it’s for sure the right choice.  But I just felt bad for Ben.  He seemed so defeated – beaten up by the whole evening.  I felt bad for him.  In the end, two girls whose names I don’t even remember went home and Olivia (much to her dismay, but bravo to Ben) got her name called LAST.  She was sweatin and I hate to admit it – but it was fun to watch! That was mean…sorry Olivia.

Hopefully we get to see more of Becca and Caila – I like them!  More next week…

Critic’s Choice: Favorite Fashion, Favorite Winners and Favorite Little Boy!

They say if you win the Critic’s Choice Award, then you have a good chance of winning the Oscar!  I certainly hope that rings true for some of my favorite winners last night!

Brie Larson won for Best Actress in ROOM!  Leonardo DiCaprio won for Best Actor in The Revenant!  Sylvester Stallone for Best Supporting Actor in Creed!  I’m a happy girl!

Another great moment was watching Amy Schumer receive the accolades she deserves for such an incredible year from Judd Apatow.  She was hilarious of course in her acceptance speech, wildly inappropriate, which is why we adore her, and she also happened to look absolutely stunning in Calvin Klein!  The best she’s ever looked on a Red Carpet!

Sometimes, if it’s a smaller award show not seen by as many people, the fashion can be hit or miss. But not last night!  The ladies brought it and they looked fresh and amazing!  Here are the rest of my picks for Best Dressed at the Critic’s Choice Awards!

Spotlight’s Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab.

Rachel McAdams – 21st Annual Critics’ Choice Awards in Santa ...

The Danish Girl and Ex-Machina’s Alicia Vikander in Mary Katrantzou.

Mad Max: Fury Road’s Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Saint Laurent.

Brooklyn’s Saoirse Ronan in Antonio Berardi.

Gorgeous, am I right?  Bravo ladies!

Now for my favorite moment of the night, and a lot of other people’s as well because it’s at the top of every entertainment news feed today!  I’m talking about ROOM’s Jacob Tremblay winning for Best Young Actor!!  I have made no secret of how much I love this film and how special and wonderful I think this little boy is!  He captures your heart and touches your soul and you just wanna take a little piece of him home in your pocket.  He’s wildly talented and so sweet and adorable!  If you have not seen ROOM yet, for god sake’s…GO! But for now, I will leave you with this adorable 9 year old to brighten your day!
